Dominant 2025 Regular Season

The Falcons started the season strong, winning their first three games convincingly: 45-33 over Alma, 59-47 against Coe, and a shutout 65-0 at Belhaven. Their only loss came on October 4, 17-21 to #15 UW-Oshkosh, but they rebounded with key conference victories.

Homecoming against #6 UW-Platteville ended 31-21, followed by blowouts like 52-7 over UW-Stevens Point and 73-21 at UW-Eau Claire. They capped the regular season with wins over #8 UW-Whitewater (52-14), #9 UW-La Crosse (41-7 on Senior Day), and UW-Stout (29-19), finishing 6-1 in conference play.

This performance showcased their offensive firepower, averaging high-scoring games and strong defenses, setting the stage for a deep playoff run.

Unstoppable Playoff Surge

In the NCAA playoffs, UW-River Falls was relentless. They crushed Chapman University 58-7 in the second round, then beat Saint John's 42-14 in the third round. The quarterfinals saw a 46-21 victory over Wheaton, extending their win streak to 10 games.

The semifinals against Johns Hopkins was a thriller. Tied late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Kaleb Blaha connected with Blake Rohrer on a game-winning 79-yard touchdown pass in the final minute, securing the 48-41 upset and the program's historic title game appearance.

Blaha's performance was stellar: 30-of-48 for 520 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. Rohrer hauled in nine catches for 236 yards and three scores, while Jaylen Reed added 52 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Road to the Stagg Bowl Championship

Now 13-1 overall, the Falcons prepare for the Stagg Bowl on January 4 at 8 p.m. ET against North Central. This marks the first time UW-River Falls competes for a national championship, a monumental achievement for the program.

Standouts like Blaha, Rohrer, and Reed have earned national recognition, including Walter Camp Division III All-America honors for Blaha and Timm. The team's offensive stats—632 yards in the semifinal—highlight their explosive potential.
