Early Career and Breakthrough

Rachel Sennott developed an interest in comedy during her freshman year of college, performing at open mic nights while studying acting at NYU Tisch and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, graduating in 2017. Her early work included student films and web series, notably reprising her lead role in the feature adaptation of Emma Seligman’s Shiva Baby in 2020.

The film Shiva Baby was a critical success and established Sennott as a fresh comedic talent, earning her nominations and praise for her portrayal of a complex young woman navigating awkward social situations with humor and vulnerability.

In 2025, Sennott co-starred in the drama Bunnylovr, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and portrayed Rosie Shuster in the biographical comedy Saturday Night. She is also set to co-write a biographical film about Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, with Aubrey Plaza attached to star.
